Zelensky visiting the UK for talks with Rishi Sunak TODAY

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is due to arrive in the UK today for talks with Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

The two leaders are expected to discuss economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.

The visit marks the first time a Ukrainian president has visited the UK in almost 20 years and is a sign of the close relationship between the two nations.

Mr Zelensky is expected to meet with Mr Sunak in London, as well as Prime Minister Boris Johnson, before travelling to Scotland to meet with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

The Ukrainian President is also expected to visit British universities and businesses, in order to promote investment opportunities in Ukraine and strengthen economic ties with the UK.

Ukraine has been in a state of conflict with Russia since 2014, with the two countries engaged in a bitter dispute over the status of the Crimean Peninsula.

The visit is seen as an important step in strengthening the UK's ties with Ukraine, as the two countries work together to tackle the ongoing crisis.

Mr Zelensky is expected to express his appreciation for the UK's support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as discuss further cooperation on security and defence.

The visit is likely to be a boost for the UK-Ukraine bilateral relationship and could serve as a platform for the two countries to further strengthen their economic ties.
