The Tesla Semi is getting recalled for faulty parking brakes

On March 31, 2023, Tesla announced a recall of its Tesla Semi electric truck due to a faulty parking brake.

The recall affects all Tesla Semis produced between February 1, 2021 and March 31, 2023. According to the company, the parking brake may become stuck in certain situations, resulting in the truck being unable to move.

In a statement, Tesla said that there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the issue, but they are taking the recall seriously and will be replacing the parking brakes in all affected vehicles.

Tesla also noted that the recall will not affect the performance or safety of the Semi, and that the trucks should still be able to operate normally.

The company is urging all Tesla Semi owners to take their vehicles to a Tesla Service Center, where technicians will replace the parking brake free of charge. Tesla also said that they will contact all affected owners directly to arrange for the repair.

The recall of the Tesla Semi is the latest in a series of issues Tesla has been dealing with in the past year. Last year, the company was forced to recall more than 500,000 vehicles due to a defective front suspension component.

Tesla said that it takes the safety of its customers very seriously, and is continuously working to improve its vehicles. The company is now working on an updated version of the Semi that will feature an improved parking brake system.

The recall of the Tesla Semi is a reminder that, even with the best technology, some issues can still arise. However, Tesla is taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of its customers and the reliability of its vehicles.
