Shanquella Robinson family pleads with Biden to ‘step in’ after mysterious death in Mexico
The family of Shanquella Robinson, a 23-year-old woman whose mysterious death in Mexico has left them searching for answers, is pleading with President Joe Biden to step in and help with the investigation.
Robinson, a US citizen, left her home in Laredo, Texas, in April to visit family in Mexico. On April 18, her body was found in an irrigation ditch in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Robinson's parents, who have been fighting for justice for their daughter, say they have been frustrated by the lack of progress in the investigation by Mexican authorities. They are now hoping that Biden will intervene and help them get answers.
“We're asking President Biden to step in and help us,” Robinson's father, Chris, said in a press conference on Tuesday. “We are begging him to help us get justice for our daughter. We just want to know what happened to her. We want to know who did this to our daughter.”
Robinson's family has been critical of the Mexican authorities for not providing them with any updates on the investigation. They have also raised questions about the Mexican police's handling of the case, including the lack of communication and delays in searching for Robinson when she was reported missing.
Robinson's family is now hoping that Biden will step in and pressure the Mexican government to provide them with answers.
“We're asking President Biden to get involved and help us get justice,” Robinson's mother, Norma, said. “We've been fighting for answers for too long, and we need help. We need the US government to step in and help us get justice for our daughter.”
The White House has yet to respond to Robinson's family's plea for help, but the family is hopeful that Biden will intervene and help them get the answers they deserve.
