Anne Heche’s son reveals she left $110K – including $33K in checks from Hollywood studios
Anne Heche's son, Homer, recently revealed that his late mother left behind a sizable inheritance for him.
Homer, who is Heche's only child, told Entertainment Tonight that the actress left him $110,000, including $33,000 in checks from various Hollywood studios.
The inheritance, which was revealed in Heche's will, came as a surprise to the 25-year-old. “I was definitely surprised,” he said. “I didn’t know that was a thing that people did, so it was a bit of a shock to me.”
Homer said his mother's legacy, which includes her acting and advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community, is something he is proud to carry on. “She was always so strong and so brave and so unapologetically herself,” he said. “I am very proud to be her son and to carry on her legacy and her story.”
Heche passed away in August 2020 at the age of 61, after a battle with stage 4 breast cancer.
Homer said he plans to use some of the money to pursue his dream of becoming a professional actor. He has already appeared in a few films, and is studying acting at the prestigious New York University.
The remaining funds will be put towards Homer's education and his future. “I am very thankful for the money that she left me,” he said.
