Schoolgirl, 14, has hair ‘ripped’ from scalp in attack as family slam ‘negligent’ teachers
A 14-year-old schoolgirl has been left traumatized after having her hair reportedly ‘ripped’ from her scalp in an attack allegedly instigated by a teacher.
The family of the schoolgirl have accused teachers of negligence after the incident happened at their school in London.
The 14-year-old, who has not been identified for legal reasons, was reportedly subjected to the attack in a classroom at her school.
The family of the schoolgirl said the attack was so violent that chunks of her hair were left on the floor after the incident.
The family has also accused the school of failing to take appropriate action when the incident was reported to them.
In a statement, the family said: “Our daughter has been left traumatised by the attack. We are appalled that the school has failed to take appropriate action and that the teachers seem to have been negligent in their duty of care.”
The school has responded to the incident and has said that they are taking the matter seriously.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We are aware of the incident and are taking the matter seriously. We are currently carrying out a full investigation and will take the necessary steps to ensure that our pupils are safe.”
The family have also said that they are considering taking legal action against the school.
The incident comes just days after the school was criticised for its handling of a separate incident of racism.
The schoolgirl’s family are now calling for a full investigation into the incident and for the teachers involved to be held accountable for their actions.
