Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman,s body found at marina in Reading
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was discovered at a marina in Reading.
Police were called to the marina on the banks of the River Thames on Sunday afternoon and the body of a woman was found.
The man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held in custody.
The victim has yet to be formally identified and a post-mortem examination is due to take place in due course.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Blaik, of Thames Valley Police, said: “This is a tragic incident and we are doing all we can to investigate it thoroughly.
“We understand that the local community will be concerned by this incident and I would like to reassure them that we are doing all we can to investigate.
“We are currently carrying out a thorough investigation and I would ask anyone who has any information about this incident to please come forward and speak to us.”
