Christine McGuinness has shared a cryptic message on Instagram as she posed in a bikini following her split from husband Paddy McGuinness.

The 31-year-old former model uploaded a sultry shot of her in a black and red two-piece as she perched on a wooden fence, under the caption: “Time to be my own hero.”

The post comes after Christine and Paddy, who married in 2011, announced in July that they were taking some time apart.

In a post shared on Instagram, Christine wrote: “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have made the tough decision to separate.

“We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children. We are all doing our best to keep things as happy and stable as possible for them.

“Thank you in advance for your kindness, respect and understanding at this difficult time.”

The couple have three children – twins Leo and Penelope, aged six, and Felicity, aged three.

Christine’s post comes as reports have suggested that the couple are working on their marriage.

A source told The Sun: “They have had a lot of time apart and have been able to re-evaluate things.

“Paddy and Christine are doing their best to make a go of things and have been seeing a marriage counsellor.

“It’s a huge step forward for them and hopefully they can get through this and come out the other side.”

Christine’s latest post has been liked over 40,000 times and fans have flooded the comments section with their messages of support.

One wrote: “You look amazing and you’re an absolute hero for being the best mum to your beautiful babies.” Another added: “You are an amazing woman and an amazing mum.”

It looks like Christine is feeling positive about the future and focusing on being her own hero.
