Nebraska server receives $5,000 tip from singer Jason Derulo: ‘Insane’
Singer Jason Derulo shocked a Nebraska server when he left her a $5,000 tip.
Vilma Chavarria, a server at the Omaha restaurant La Casa Pizzaria, was pleasantly surprised when Derulo tipped her $5,000 after his meal. Chavarria said that she was in disbelief when she saw the tip, calling it “insane”.
“I was shocked,” Chavarria told Fox News. “It was an insane amount to tip, and I was so shocked that I didn't know what to do. I had to ask my manager if it was real.”
Chavarria said that she was serving Derulo and his family during their visit to the restaurant. She said she was impressed with their kindness and generosity and that they were very polite.
“They were so nice and so polite,” Chavarria said. “I was so grateful for the tip, and it's something that I'll never forget. I'm so thankful for their generosity.”
Derulo's manager, who was also at the restaurant, confirmed the generous tip and said that it was the singer's way of showing his appreciation for Chavarria's excellent service.
The $5,000 tip is the latest in a series of generous acts by Derulo. Last year, he donated $1 million to various charities and causes around the world. He also recently donated $100,000 to an organization that helps homeless veterans.
The generous tip has left Chavarria feeling overwhelmed with gratitude.
“I'm still in shock,” Chavarria said. “I just can't believe that this happened. I'm so thankful for his generosity. It's something I'll never forget.”
