I ordered nine crates of Carlsberg – I’m fuming over the parcel that arrived instead
When Jenny Hopkinson ordered nine crates of Carlsberg for her son’s 18th birthday party, she was expecting to receive her order in time for the big celebration.
But Jenny was left feeling furious after being delivered something ‘ridiculous’ in place of the beer – a package filled with nine packets of crisps.
The mum-of-two, from Brierley Hill in the West Midlands, had ordered the beer from online store Flubit.
She said: “I had ordered nine crates of Carlsberg and what I got was nine packets of crisps.
“I was horrified. I just couldn’t believe it. It was totally ridiculous. I was really angry. I had paid for the beer and I was expecting to receive it.
“I was really worried that I was going to be late for the party and I wouldn’t have the beer. I was very stressed out.”
Jenny, who works as a customer service advisor, said that she had been given the wrong order in spite of ordering the exact type of beer.
She said: “I had ordered Carlsberg Pilsner and I received packets of crisps instead. I was so angry and I had to call customer services to get it sorted out.
“I was promised a full refund and I was also given a £15 voucher as an apology.
“Luckily, I managed to find some beer in time for the party. But it was a very stressful experience.”
Jenny said that the experience had put her off ordering online in the future.
She said: “I’m never going to order online again. I think it’s too risky. I’m always going to make sure that I go to the shops and get what I need.”
