Man stabbed to death in Hull city centre as four arrested after cops rush to late-night fight
Police have confirmed that a man has been stabbed to death in Hull city centre, with four people arrested in connection with the incident.
Officers from Humberside Police were called to the scene shortly after 11pm last night following reports of a fight.
When they arrived, they found that a man in his early twenties had been fatally wounded. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four individuals, two men and two women, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.
In a statement released shortly after the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Tony Cockerill said: “We recognise that this incident has occurred in a busy area of the city centre late at night and we are sure that it will have caused considerable alarm and concern.
“We have a number of officers in the area and we are working to establish the full circumstances of what took place.
“At this time we believe the incident to involve a group of people who were known to each other, and our enquiries are continuing to ascertain the full facts.”
He went on to urge anyone who may have witnessed the fight or seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact the police.
This is the latest in a string of violent incidents across the country and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
