The San Antonio Spurs overcame a triple-double from Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic to defeat the Nuggets 128-120 on Wednesday night.
Jokic recorded 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, but it wasn't enough to stop the Spurs from coming away with the win. San Antonio was led by forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who recorded a double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds.
The Spurs were also bolstered by the play of guard DeMar DeRozan, who had 24 points and 10 assists. Guard Bryn Forbes had a big night as well, recording 21 points and four rebounds.
The Nuggets had some good performances of their own, with guard Jamal Murray chipping in 25 points and four assists and forward Paul Millsap adding 17 points and 12 rebounds.
The Spurs controlled the game from the start, taking a 10-point lead after the first quarter and never looking back. San Antonio led by as much as 16 points in the third quarter, and the Nuggets were never able to get close enough to make a serious run.
The Spurs have now won four straight games and are tied for the third-best record in the Western Conference. The Nuggets, meanwhile, have lost four of their past five games and are now tied for the sixth-best record in the West.
