Max Verstappen in X-rated radio message after only just avoiding ugly Lando Norris crash

Max Verstappen has launched an X-rated radio message after only just avoiding a crash with Lando Norris at the Spanish Grand Prix.

The Red Bull driver had to take evasive action to avoid the McLaren man during the race at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit on Sunday.

It was a brave move by the Dutchman, who had to take to the grass in order to avoid a nasty collision.

Verstappen was left fuming at Norris over the incident and made his feelings known on the team radio.

“What the f*** was he doing?” he said.

“That was so unnecessary.”

Verstappen had been in a battle for a podium spot with Norris, but it was not to be as he eventually finished fourth.

Norris was fifth, but had to endure a five-second time penalty for causing the incident.

The Red Bull driver was clearly unimpressed by the McLaren man's actions, and his radio message was one of frustration.

“He thinks he is a big boy, but he needs to respect other drivers on the track,” Verstappen said.

The incident was just one of a number of flashpoints during the race, with Verstappen in a number of tussles with his rivals.

He eventually crossed the line in fourth, with Norris crossing in fifth after his time penalty.

Verstappen will be looking to improve on his showing in the next race at the Monaco Grand Prix, but he will no doubt be hoping to avoid any more on-track scraps.
