Lando Norris reveals all about F1 drivers' WhatsApp group and surprising main photo

Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has revealed all about the secret WhatsApp group of drivers, and the group's surprising main photo.

The McLaren driver, who is currently fourth in the championship standings, said the group was created shortly after he joined the grid in 2019. Joining Norris in the group are several of his F1 colleagues, including Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, Red Bull's Max Verstappen, and Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas.

The group's main photo is surprisingly not a photo of the drivers, but a picture of Norris and his pet cat. Norris said that the choice of photo was a joke between the drivers.

“It was a joke, as I'm a massive cat person,” Norris said. “It's a nice photo and I think it's funny.”

Norris said that the group is mainly used for joking around, but that the drivers often share advice and discuss the latest news in the sport.

“It's just for a bit of fun, but we also talk about the sport and discuss the latest news,” Norris said.

The group is also a place to vent frustrations and talk about issues, Norris said.

“It's a good way to get our feelings out and talk about the issues that come up in the sport,” Norris said.

Despite the group's main photo being a joke, Norris said it is a reminder of the tight bond the drivers share.

“It's a reminder that even though we are competitors, at the end of the day we are all friends and share a bond,” Norris said.
