Kyrou scores hat trick as Blues beat Blue Jackets 5-2

The St. Louis Blues secured a 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night, thanks in part to a hat trick from forward Jordan Kyrou.

Kyrou scored the first goal of the game midway through the first period, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead. He added another goal at the start of the second period to extend the Blues' lead to 2-0. Kyrou then completed his hat trick with a power-play goal in the third period, putting the Blues up 5-2.

The Blues also got goals from defensemen Vince Dunn and Alex Pietrangelo. Pietrangelo also added two assists in the game.

Goaltender Jake Allen made 24 saves on 26 shots for the Blues, while Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks stopped 23 of 28 shots.

The Blues' win was their fourth in a row and their ninth in their last 10 games. The win also moved them to within two points of the first-place Nashville Predators in the Central Division.

Kyrou's hat trick was the first of his career and the first by a Blues player this season. The 21-year-old forward has now scored eight goals and 17 points in 33 games this season.

The Blues will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Washington Capitals.
