Justin Lee, Levi Sterling pitch Sherman Oaks Notre Dame to win over Harvard-Westlake

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High School’s Justin Lee and Levi Sterling combined to pitch a shutout in a 5-0 victory over Harvard-Westlake High School in a nonleague baseball game on Tuesday.

Lee went 5 2/3 innings and allowed only four hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. Sterling pitched the final 1 1/3 innings and finished with two strikeouts and no walks.

The Knights scored three runs in the top of the second inning, with Lee and Sterling each scoring on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Ryan Mize.

Lee and Sterling provided stellar defense, with the former making a great catch on a line drive in the third inning and the latter picking off a runner in the fourth.

The Knights added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning on a two-run double from Mize to push the score to 5-0.

Lee and Sterling were a big reason why the Knights were able to pick up the road win, as their combined effort in the pitching circle allowed the offense to take control of the game.

The win was a big one for the Knights, as they improve to 3-3 on the season. They’ll look to continue their winning ways when they take on Fairfax High School on Thursday.
