Julian Nagelsmann comments on Arsenal and Chelsea icon may not go down well with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur’s potential new manager, Julian Nagelsmann, has recently stirred controversy by commenting on some of the most iconic players in the histories of their two biggest London rivals – Arsenal and Chelsea.

The 33-year-old German, who is set to join Spurs from RB Leipzig this summer, caused a stir when he labelled Arsenal legend Thierry Henry “overrated” while speaking to ZDF Sport.

Nagelsmann then went on to label Chelsea icon Didier Drogba as “one-dimensional”, claiming that the Ivorian striker was “limited” in terms of his tactical understanding.

The comments have caused a stir amongst the Tottenham fanbase, with many unhappy with the German’s apparent lack of respect for two of their biggest rivals.

The response has been particularly passionate amongst Arsenal and Chelsea fans, who have rounded on the 33-year-old for his comments.

It remains to be seen how these comments will affect Nagelsmann’s potential move to Spurs, with his comments unlikely to go down well with the club’s fans.

Tottenham have made no comment on the situation, though it is clear that the young German’s comments will have an impact on the reaction of the Spurs faithful towards him if he is appointed as manager.

Nagelsmann will now be hoping to quickly put the controversy behind him and continue to focus on his current job with RB Leipzig, as he bids to guide them to Champions League glory this season.
