Harry Kane’s comments on Mauricio Pochettino speak volumes amid Tottenham return rumours

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has praised former manager Mauricio Pochettino in a glowing testament to the Argentinian’s character and footballing ability as speculation over a potential return to the club continues.

Kane, who has scored an impressive 181 goals for Spurs in the last five years, was full of admiration for Pochettino, who guided the London side to the Champions League final in 2019.

“The way he trains and the way he gets the players to buy into his philosophy and his way of playing is second to none,” Kane said in an interview with Sky Sports.

“I think everyone felt that connection with him and felt like they could go to him. I think that's why he got the best out of everyone.”

Kane’s comments come in the wake of reports linking Pochettino with a return to Tottenham, with current manager Jose Mourinho under increasing pressure following a string of poor results.

The 26-year-old’s testimony to Pochettino’s character and style of management speaks volumes about the respect he has for his former manager, and will do little to quell the speculation that he could be ready to make a dramatic return to the club.

Kane also praised the work of current coach Antonio Conte, praising his “attention to detail” and “incredible” man-management skills.

It remains to be seen if Pochettino will make a return to Tottenham, but Kane’s words will no doubt have given fans hope that their former manager may yet make a dramatic return to the club.
