Doncic, Irving out again as Mavs lose rematch with Memphis
The Dallas Mavericks had a tough night in Memphis on Monday, as star players Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving were out of the lineup and the Mavs lost their rematch with the Grizzlies, 122-112.
Doncic and Irving both missed the game due to injury, with Doncic sitting out with a sprained right ankle and Irving missing his second straight game with a shoulder injury. Doncic, who has been playing through the ankle issue for several weeks, is hopeful to return soon.
Without their two stars, the Mavericks struggled to keep up with the Grizzlies, who were led by Ja Morant's 29 points, 11 assists and five rebounds. Dillon Brooks added 21 points and Jonas Valanciunas contributed 15 points and 16 rebounds.
The Mavericks were led by Kristaps Porzingis, who had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Tim Hardaway Jr. with 22 points, and Trey Burke, who had 17 points and six assists.
The Mavericks have suffered a recent string of losses, losing four of their last five games, and their record now stands at 11-15. They will look to get back on track when they face the Hornets on Thursday.
