Atonio Mafi NFL draft diary: 'I'm ready to show the scouts what I can do'
UCLA defensive lineman Atonio Mafi is gearing up for the 2021 NFL Draft. With just two weeks left before his Pro Day, Mafi is busy preparing to show the scouts what he can do.
Mafi, who had a standout performance in the 2020 season, is looking to impress the scouts and coaches with his skill set in order to make an impact in the NFL.
“I'm ready to show the scouts what I can do,” said Mafi. “I'm expecting to put on a good show on Pro Day and show them why they should take a chance on me in the draft.”
Mafi has been hard at work since the end of the season, training and conditioning in order to make sure he's in the best shape possible for Pro Day.
“I'm not someone who just relies on natural talent. I have to work hard if I want to make it to the next level,” said Mafi. “I'm training every day, doing drills and focusing on my technique so I can make the most of my Pro Day.”
Mafi is also taking advantage of the time he has before Pro Day to get to know the coaches and scouts.
“I'm spending a lot of time talking to the coaches and scouts and getting to know them better,” said Mafi. “I want them to get to know me as a person and see what I can bring to the table.”
With Pro Day just around the corner, Mafi is confident in his preparation and is eager to show the scouts what he can do.
