Popular singer Shakira has announced that she is leaving Barcelona and jetting out with her two sons as she plans for a move to Miami.

The Voice judge, 43, has revealed that she will be relocating to the US city with her long-term partner Gerard Piqué, 33, and their two sons, Sasha, six, and Milan, nine.

Shakira, who is originally from Colombia, took to Instagram to announce the news, writing: ‘Our next adventure will be in the US! We'll be closer to our work and family, and we'll be able to enjoy Miami's great weather all year round.

The singer who is currently the judge on the US version of The Voice said she will be able to combine her work with her family life more easily in Miami.

The couple have been living in Catalonia since 2010, when Piqué signed for Barcelona Football Club. They have reportedly bought a house in the Miami area, and have already started packing up their belongings.

The singer and songwriter, who has sold over 140 million records worldwide, is expected to spend more time in the US promoting her new album, ‘El Dorado', which was released in May 2017.

The family's move to the US city follows a series of rumors that they were considering relocating to the city.

Shakira and Gerard have been together since 2011 and are now one of the most famous couples in the world. They are renowned for their charity work in South America and for their support of the Catalan independence movement.
