Priyanka Chopra ‘cried’ to husband Nick Jonas after she was told she wasn’t ‘sample-sized’
Actress Priyanka Chopra has revealed that she “cried” to her husband Nick Jonas after she was told she was “not sample-sized”.
The Indian-born star, who married Jonas in 2018, made the comments while opening up about the struggles she has faced as an actress in Hollywood.
Chopra, who has appeared in films such as The Sky Is Pink, Baywatch and Isn't It Romantic, said that she has often been told that she wasn't the “right size” for roles.
“I have been told I'm not sample-sized. I'm not tall enough, I'm not whatever enough. I've cried about it,” she said.
The 37-year-old said that her husband had been her “biggest cheerleader”, and that she had been fortunate enough to have his support throughout her career.
“He's been such a strong support system for me, and I've been so lucky to have him,” she said.
Chopra also revealed that she had faced criticism for her accent, but had decided to not let it define her.
“I decided I'm not going to be apologetic for who I am. I want to be who I am, with my accent and all,” she said.
The actress has become a major star in both India and the United States, and has won numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India.
Chopra has also become a powerful advocate for women's rights, and recently launched a foundation to empower women around the world.
“I want to really make sure that the next generation of girls have it better than I did,” she said.
