Married At First Sight star Lyndall Grace has responded to the brutal vows made by her ex-husband Cameron Woods during their wedding ceremony.
The couple, who tied the knot on the hit reality show, were married for just a few weeks before calling it quits. During their wedding ceremony, Cameron reportedly made a number of harsh remarks about Lyndall, which she has now responded to.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the 34-year-old said she was taken aback by Cameron’s remarks, particularly his vows which she claims were “filled with insults and criticism”.
“I was heartbroken and embarrassed,” Lyndall said. “I felt like he was attacking me and my character, which was completely unnecessary and unacceptable.”
Lyndall also revealed that she wrote her own vows, which were a lot kinder and more respectful than Cameron’s.
“My vows were a lot more meaningful and sincere,” she said. “I wanted to express my love, admiration and commitment to Cameron, but it didn’t seem like he reciprocated.”
Lyndall, who is now in a relationship with another Married At First Sight contestant, has since moved on from her marriage to Cameron and is focusing on her new relationship.
“I’m in a much better place now,” she said. “I’ve found someone who respects and loves me, and I’m so grateful for that.”
For Lyndall, her experience on Married At First Sight has taught her an important lesson in love.
“It taught me that love is more than just words and that respect is non-negotiable,” she said. “It’s important to be able to trust and rely on the person you’re with and that’s something I’ll never forget.”
