Kyle Sandilands reveals he was with John Ibrahim when his brother Fadi was shot five times
Australian radio host Kyle Sandilands has revealed he was with Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim when his brother Fadi was shot five times in a shocking attack.
Sandilands made the shock revelation during a live radio broadcast on his KIIS FM show on Thursday morning, saying he was with Ibrahim when he received the news.
“I was with John Ibrahim the night that Fadi was shot five times in a drive-by shooting, and I saw the look on his face,” Sandilands said.
He added that Ibrahim, who was at the time in a car with another man, was “absolutely shattered”.
“I've never seen John like that before,” Sandilands said.
The shooting occurred in June last year after Fadi Ibrahim was shot at close range in an apparent targeted attack in Sydney's south.
He suffered serious injuries, including a collapsed lung and two broken arms, but was released from hospital a week later.
No one has been charged over the shooting, which police believe was a targeted attack.
Sandilands praised Ibrahim for the way he handled the situation and said he stayed strong for his family.
“John was absolutely devastated, but he kept it together for the family,” he said.
“He's a strong man, John Ibrahim. He's a man of resilience.”
Sandilands' revelation comes as Ibrahim is set to face court today on a series of charges, including conspiring to murder, participating in a criminal group and supplying a prohibited drug.
He is accused of being involved in a major crime syndicate that allegedly imported and distributed illegal drugs and tobacco.
Ibrahim has denied all charges.
