Popular singer and X-Factor star Josh Cuthbert has opened up about his struggles with mental health, revealing he felt like a burden on his family while battling suicidal thoughts.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Cuthbert said the darkest days of his mental health issues saw him feeling like a burden on his family, and he was struggling to understand why he was feeling so low.
He said: “I felt like a burden on my family, I couldn’t understand why I was feeling so low. I was trying to make sense of why I was feeling so bad – it felt like I was a burden on them.”
The former Union J star, who has been open about his battle with mental health issues in the past, went on to talk about the importance of talking about mental health and the need to remove the stigma surrounding it.
He said: “It’s important to talk about mental health and to remove the stigma surrounding it. It’s ok to not be ok, and it’s ok to talk about it.”
Cuthbert went on to emphasise the importance of seeking help and support, particularly in times of crisis.
He said: “It’s so important to speak up and ask for help when you need it. Mental health issues can be so isolating and it can be difficult to reach out, but it’s so important to do so.”
The singer, who is now focused on raising awareness about mental health issues and helping others, also spoke about the importance of creating a supportive environment for those struggling with mental health issues.
“It’s so important to create a supportive environment for those struggling with mental health issues. It can make all the difference in the world,” he said.
