Denzel Washington and his He Got Game director Spike Lee attend the Lakers vs. Knicks game

Denzel Washington and his He Got Game director Spike Lee attended the Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The pair, who worked together on the 1998 sports drama, were all smiles as they watched the action from their courtside seats.

Washington, 65, wore a black leather coat over a black T-shirt, and accessorized with a pair of sunglasses.

Lee, 62, was also casually dressed in a blue T-shirt and a black baseball cap.

The two were seen enjoying the game, laughing and chatting with one another.

The Lakers eventually beat the Knicks 118-112, with LeBron James scoring 34 points, while Knicks' RJ Barrett scored 29.

Washington and Lee are no strangers to attending basketball games together – they've been spotted courtside at several games in the past.

The two first worked together on 1998's He Got Game, with Washington playing the lead role of Jake Shuttlesworth, a father trying to get his son out of jail and into the NBA.

The movie was critically acclaimed and spawned a cult following.

Washington and Lee have remained close friends ever since, and it was great to see them enjoying the Lakers game together.
