Colin Farrell had the perfect response to Jimmy Kimmel at the 95th annual Academy Awards on Sunday night.

The Irish actor was called up to the stage by Kimmel, who was hosting the show, to present the award for Best Actor.

But instead of presenting the award, Farrell gave a hilarious response.

“I have been asked to present the award for Best Actor,” he said, “but I would like to receive it instead.”

The audience erupted in laughter and applause, while Kimmel was left speechless.

Kimmel eventually recovered and proceeded to announce the nominees, with Joaquin Phoenix taking home the award for his role in the movie Joker.

Farrell then went on to thank Kimmel for allowing him to have the last laugh.
